The 30th National Psychology Students Congress, organized in collaboration with Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University and the Turkish Psychology Students Working Group, was held on 11–13 August 2026 under the theme “Mental Health in the Age of Uncertainty.”

Halime Özgür, a student in the English Psychology Department at Istanbul Gelişim University, presented her study titled “Clinical Uncertainties in Inclusive Mental Health Services: A Literature Review of Psychotherapy Processes with Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Clients,” conducted together with PSİKOMER Director Asst. Prof. Berk Efe Altınal.

The study examined psychotherapy processes involving Deaf and hard-of-hearing clients, focusing on communication, cultural competence, and the use of sign language. Drawing on the relevant literature, it explored the clinical and ethical uncertainties that may arise from the “Care Triangle” formed between the client, therapist, and sign language interpreter.

In the coming semester, PSİKOMER will continue supporting students’ participation in research, development of academic studies, and presentation of their work at scientific events through the planned Student Researcher Network. The network aims to bring together students interested in research and academics within a collaborative environment that encourages joint academic production.

We congratulate Halime Özgür on her academic study and congress presentation and wish her continued success in her academic work.
