Reading Group Discusses “The Talented Mr. Ripley”

The Student Reading Group of Istanbul Gelişim University’s IGU Psychology Center met on October 1, 2026, to discuss Patricia Highsmith’s novel The Talented Mr. Ripley. Nine participants attended the event, sharing their impressions and interpretations of the book.

The discussion focused on the novel’s characters and plot, giving participants an opportunity to consider different perspectives on their reading. Through the exchange, participants also explored connections between literature and psychology.

The IGU Psychology Center Student Reading Group aims to bring psychology students together through shared readings and create a space for discussion beyond the classroom. By considering literary works alongside psychological concepts, the group encourages students to engage with different interpretations and share their ideas.
